Effect of Physical Activity on Blood Pressure Distribution among School Children

Abstract: The present study analyzed the relationship between physical activity and blood pressure in 701 school children aged 12-16 years (girls = 338, boys = 363). During the baseline examination, systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), height, weight, and 24-hour recall of the working day activity with duration were recorded. Total activity score and type of activity were calculated by weighing the activity level. Mean, standard deviation, and correlation coefficient were calculated by using… Show more

“…Regular exercise can bring health benefits for reducing high blood pressure in adults and preschool children, [26][27][28][29] considering hypertension is strongly related to cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality. Our study generated new evidence that normal maternal blood pressure is positively associated with higher PA level of infants aged 12 months.…”

“…PFL and BMI are not the only parameters for preventing the health status since Systolic Blood Pressure also contributes to someone's health status. An increasing blood pressure shows the pathology of cardiovascular status [20]. The characteristic of blood pressure in children and young age may influence the blood pressure in adult age [20].…”
