“…As the largest ovarian follicles are the main source of plasma progesterone in birds (Imai and Nalbandov, 1978;Culbert et al, 1980;Etches and Duke, 1984), this observation supports the conclusion that the hens which had low concentrations of progesterone were out of lay.
