Abstract: Introduction Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is part of a disease spectrum ranging from steatosis to steatohepatitis (NASH), fibrosis, and cirrhosis, and when associated with metabolic syndrome (MS), and overt diabetes is defined as metabolic NAFLD (MAFLD).
