Effect of nano/micro-mixed ceramic fillers on the dielectric and thermal properties of epoxy polymer composites

Abstract: Nano/micro ceramic‐filled epoxy composite materials have been processed with various percentage additions of SiO2, Al2O3 ceramic fillers as reinforcements selected from the nano and micro origin sources. Different types of filler combinations, viz. only nano, only micro, nano/micro, and micro/micro particles, were designed to investigate their influence on the thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, and dielectric properties of epoxy polymers. Thermal expansion studies were conducted using thermomechanical an… Show more

“…In meso‐composites, they noticed a significant increase in both tensile strength and modulus without collapsing the optical transparency and thermal stability . In our previous work, we elaborately discussed about the role of nano/micro mixed fillers in dielectric and thermal properties of epoxy composites . We summarized that nano/micro mixed fillers effectively maintain the thermal‐interface network, which has increased its thermal conductivity without sacrificing the dielectric quality.…”

“…The withstand voltage of micro‐aluminum nitride (AlN) coated nano‐BN was increased by 256% compared to neat EP under high‐frequency voltage 22 . The micro‐alumina improves the thermal conductivity, nano‐silica reduces the dielectric constant of the composite material, whereas the micro‐nano composite material maintains a low thermal expansion coefficient 23 . The effect of micro‐nano silica on the space charge and conductivity characteristics of the epoxy composites was investigated in Reference 24.…”
