Effect of molecular-mass characteristics of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber on impact resistance and mobility of the melt of its modified blends with polypropylene

Abstract: Influence of heterogeneous textures of polypropylene/ethylene-propylene-rubber blends on dynamic viscoelastic properties in molten stateAbstract. The study concerned the effect of molecular-mass characteristics and Mooney viscosity of the initial EPDM rubber on the changes in the structure, impact strength and rheological properties of PP/EPDM blends as a result of their modification in a melt under the action of organic peroxide and peroxide-trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) system.

“…2,3 Thus, the reuse and modification of WEEEE especially PP and HIPS are crucial. As for PP, generally speaking, the modification can be improved by rubber filling, 4,5 in situ formation of microfibers, 6,7 modification of layered or rigid inorganic fillers, 8,9 thermoplastic blending, 10 and nucleation. 11,12 The most economical and effective of these methods is the use of fillers, which can simultaneously enhance both the toughness and the tensile strength.…”
