Effect of mifepristone (25 mg) in treatment of uterine myoma in perimenopausal woman

Abstract: Objectives:To evaluate the effect of Mifepristone (25 mg) on symptomatic myoma in perimenopausal women.Study Design:Open label clinical trial.Materials and Methods:Ninety three perimenopausal women of age 35-50 years having symptomatic myoma were selected from Gynecology OPD and given 25 mg Mifepristone once daily continuously for three months. “…Comparable results of Shikha Seth et al reported that Hb% raised by 2.8gm% at the end of treatment. 12 In present study percentage of fibroid volume reduction noted was 38.7%, similarly in study conducted by Kulshrestha et al there was 36% reduction with 25mg of Mifepristone.
