“…The role of substituent in ortho ‐position of chromophore donor is clarified here for the first time. The observations concerning the role of the substituents at aniline nitrogen and in the meta ‐position are in agreement with the results of [58] demonstrating the improved NLO characteristics of chromophores with methoxy and benzyloxy groups in meta ‐position of amino benzene fragment and extended π‐conjugated bridge. Thus, among the chromophores of this series Idz and Ifz can be considered the most promising candidates to exhibit high NLO characteristics.…”
