“…Nardo and other scholars [20][21][22][23][24] examined the expression of integrin ανβ3, α4β1 in the endometrium of the fertile women 6 day and 8 days after ovulation, ανβ3, α4β1 was found to be transiently expressed during the implantation window. Meanwhile, the expression of integrin ανβ3 in pregnant women in the implantation window was much higher than that in their non-pregnant counterparts.…”

“…It occurs in 10 % of the menstrual cycle in a fertile woman but incidence increases with stimulated cycles. 4 Also, it is on the rise due to availability of better imaging modalities. Recent studies have shown that the endometrium proliferates more slowly in LUF cycles than in ovulatory cycles, and women with LUF cycles have a shortened luteal phase, reduced P level and inadequate luteal function.…”

“…LUF is observed in 10% of natural menstrual cycles in fertile women, but in stimulated cycles it is higher. 4 The incidence of LUF has been reported to be 25-43% in infertile women 5 . Concerns do exist regarding impact on success of the embryo transfer in a stimulated cycle with LUF.…”

“…Follicular cysts were defined as follicles with or without oocytes that contain a large antral cavity and a thin granulosa layer. LUFs were defined as structures with an oocyte surrounded by luteal and granulosa cells, with neovascularization (Wang et al 2008, Fernandois et al 2012. The number of these different ovarian structures was determined in six ovarian sections from each ovary (n = 6 ovaries/group) and expressed as mean ± s.e.m.…”
