Abstract:In the present study, graphite scrap powder from machining of commercial graphite blocks for electrical discharge machining (EDM) applications was recycled as a filler material for manufacturing graphite blocks, and its suitability for use as EDM electrodes was thoroughly assessed. The effects of process parameters applied in EDM electrode manufacturing, including the number of impregnations and graphitization temperatures, on the physical properties of the resulting graphite blocks, were examined.
