Effect of Hoisting Load on Transverse Vibrations of Hoisting Catenaries in Floor Type Multirope Friction Mine Hoists

Abstract: The effect of hoisting load on transverse vibrations of hoisting catenaries during lifting in coal mines was investigated in this study. Firstly, dynamic analyses of the vertical hoisting rope were performed. The results show that transverse vibration plays the dominating role in the coupled dynamics of the vertical rope subjected to external excitation induced by axial fluctuations of head sheave, and the rope tension can be approximated by the quasistatic tension. Secondly, employing dynamic simulations, the… Show more

“…However, because of the interaction of the flexible whole and the longitudinal and transverse directions of the wire rope itself, the vibration of the wire rope has strong transverse-longitudinal coupling characteristics. In this paper, for the first time, the experimental evidence of the coupling characteristics of the transverse and longitudinal vibrations of the wire rope has been found, which is different from the theoretical study of coupled dynamics of the wire rope [5,42,43] or the experimental verification of a single direction [30,44]. Figure 17 shows the histogram of the maximum power spectrum of transverse and longitudinal vibrations of the wire rope at different excitation frequencies.…”

“…e higher level represents the higher excitation frequency. When the excitation frequency increases, the "beat frequency" characteristic of the tension signal becomes increasingly prominent [30,31]. e beat frequency is similar to the signal "modulation" induced by two approaching signal frequencies.…”

“…With the development of modern large-scale friction hoisting, the problems of dynamic characteristics, which are not obvious in low-speed and light-load conditions, are gradually reflected, for example, in rope vibration and slippage [1,2]. During dynamic operations, especially in severe conditions such as acceleration and emergency braking, the long-distance suspended rope will produce large elastic vibrations and tension impacts under the influence of the terminal heavy container [3][4][5]. The vibration impact produces not only longitudinal tension, but also horizontal and torsional vibration due to the transmission of the shock wave [6,7].…”

“…It is a mechatronics-hydraulics-integrated system (comprising a driving friction pulley, hoisting ropes, head sheaves, containers, balancing tail ropes, etc.) [3], including complex dynamic characteristics like inertia, flexibility, and damping in its operation. The tail rope is an important component of the hoisting system.…”

“…The tail rope is an important component of the hoisting system. It is set up to balance the gravity of the hoisting rope and to obtain equal moments in the mine hoisting system [3]. Hence, the working state and mechanical properties of the tail rope directly affect the safety of mine production [4].…”
