Experiments were conducted in the field, greenhouse, and with leaf disks in test tubes to determine whether the herbicides alachlor, metolachlor, and oryzalin, commonly used for weed control in soybeans [Glycine max (L) Mer.] affect in vivo nitrate reductase activity.
