Effect of Growth Regulators in Production and Rooting of Coffea arabica L. Minicuttings

Abstract: The plants of C. arabica do not naturally produce a large number of orthotropic sprouts, hindering clonal multiplication by cutting, which would be the simplest technique with a lower cost of production compared to other methods of vegetative propagation. An alternative form, used successfully in the propagation of eucalyptus, is propagation by minicutting, which consists of pruning the shoot apex of the plant, forming the ministumps, which in variable time interval emits the shoots that will be used to make m… Show more

“…Different from the result of [15], the application of a plant growth regulator increased at the number of internodes, the average number of fruits on the fourth and fifth node, and the length of reproductive branches. The productivity of coffee could be increased with the use of plant growth regulators [16]. No Description: *: Significant difference (p < 0.05), **: Significant difference (p < 0.01), No: Not significant, P0: Without pruning, P1: Pruning, Z0: 0 mL L -1 , Z1: 0.3 mL L -1 , Z2: 0.4 mL L -1…”
