Effect of Granule Structure on the Combustion Behavior of Coke Breeze for Iron Ore Sintering

Abstract: In order to improve the coke combustion efficiency during iron ore sintering, the effect of coke granule structure was investigated with a TG-DTA and a new combination heating equipment capable of establishing similar heating pattern to the actual sintering bed. The results were analyzed as a function of granule type and neighboring specie as follows:The granule type was crucial to the combustion behavior of granules. On the other hand, the effect of neighbors was distinct over core coke particles; meanwhile, … Show more

“…In the experiments with different temperature, the mass reduction of sample was considered to be mainly caused by the following chemical reactions. 9,30) C O CO (s) (g) (g) o where x(t) was the sample mass conversion rate (%), m 0 and m ∞ are the initial and final mass of the sample, respectively (g), and m t is the mass of the sample at time t (g).…”

“…There are many studies that have been carried out on the property of a single particle size of fuel. [10,11] But in the actual sintering process, the sizes of fuel are different which are mixed together. Basically the solid fuels with different size exist in sintering granular based on the following three ways [12,13] : (i) Coarse particles (þ3 mm) become the core of granular and packed by other fine particles (À1 mm).…”
