Effect of Glycine on Thiazole Biosynthesis in Escherichia coli

Abstract: Glycine was found to replace thiamine thiazole for the growth of the thiazoleless mutant of Escherichia coli; it also stimulated the production of thiamine thiazole by washed cell suspensions of the mutant.
