“…Moreover, this natural compound relieved also learning and memory deficits and ameliorated hippocampus histological lesions in Vascular dementia rats. [121] In another work Zhang et al [122] studied the neuroprotective activity of gastrodin against cognitive impairment via regulating gut microbiota. They found that gastrodin improved cognitive deficits and Aβ deposition in APP/PS1 mice via increasing Bcl-2 level and decreasing Bax level and down-regulation neuronal apoptosis.…”

“…This discrepancy could be the reason for the difference in aspect of Se occurrences in the soils. Such morphological distribution characteristics significantly influence the uptake of Se by plants [46][47][48][49][50].…”

“…Gas reversed the memory dysfunction in D-gal-administered AD mouse model via partly modulating the microbiota-gut-brain axis with a positive link with Firmicutes and had a negative link with Cyanobacteria, Proteobacteria, and Deferribaceters ( Fasina et al, 2022 ). Gas treatment improved cognitive deficits and Aβ deposition in APP/PS1 mice by inhibiting neuronal apoptosis via increasing the level of Bcl-2 and decreasing the level of Bax, increasing the expression levels of insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) and cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) in APP/PS1 mice, as well as rectifying the abnormal composition and structure of gut microbiota ( Zhang Y. et al, 2023 ). These studies provide scientific basis for neuroprotective roles of G. elata in AD and demonstrate the relevant mechanisms which include modulation of the gut microbiota.…”
