Lately, due to the high cost of repairing concrete structures with steel on the effect of corrosion, designers have become aware of the need for new substitutes of corrugated steel bars. These materials must ensure the safety and the service, aesthetic and funnctional conditions of the structure during the lifetime it was designed for.Searching for new materials to replace the corrugated steel bars, carbon fiber reinforced polymer bars (CFRP) appear a few years ago. This type of material is lighter than steel bars. Additionaly, it has a tensile strength greater than steel bars and also solves the problem of corrosion.One of the most important parameters in the design of a structure is checking the bond to the concrete in any thermal conditions. As a result, before introducing this new type of bar it is compulsory to test it. In addition, it is one of the assumptions on which the current design standards of reinforced concrete structures are based.

The change in stiffness with temperature in the presence of different media has been discussed for a long time because the ability to predict this behavior becomes fundamental to the design of new materials and their applications. That is why, in this work, the application of a mathematical model, which is able to predict the elastic properties of two polymers, is presented. The study takes into account the relationship between the viscoelastic and absorption properties of these materials in alkaline solution (Ca (OH) 2 , pH 12.5) and in distilled water (H 2 O, pH 7) as the immersion media. Diffusion coefficient values were higher when the resins were immersed in water than in the alkaline solution. In addition, the effect of the alkaline medium was higher for the unsaturated polyester resin (UPR). The highest decrease in modulus at the glassy state of the polymer network was observed for the UPR immersed in the alkaline medium. The greatest reduction of the T g value due to network plasticizing was found for the epoxy resin (ER) in the alkaline medium. Therefore, the ER exhibited a more stable behavior after aging at moderate temperature than the UPR. C 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Der Einsatz und die Verfügbarkeit von Bewehrung aus Carbonfaserverbundkunststoff (CFK) steigen stetig, weshalb ein umfangreiches Verständnis der Verbundeigenschaften essenziell ist. Die vorliegende Publikation gibt einen Überblick über unterschiedliche Ausführungsformen von CFK‐Stäben sowie über den Einfluss von ausgewählten Parametern auf das Verbundverhalten. Der Fokus wurde auf Stäbe mit straffer Umwickelung aus CFK‐Fasersträngen gelegt und die Konkurrenzfähigkeit im Vergleich zu anderen, beispielsweise subtraktiv bearbeiteten, eingefrästen Stäben wird aufgezeigt. In 84 Ausziehversuchen wurde das Verbundverhalten von umwickelten CFK‐Stäben in vier Betonarten getestet. Bei den untersuchten Stäben wurden dabei die Wendelbreite und ‐dicke, die Wendelsteigung, der Wendelabstand und der Stabdurchmesser variiert. Die Versuchsergebnisse werden in Verbundspannungs‐Schlupfdiagrammen präsentiert, verglichen und abschließend diskutiert.
