Abstract:Clay-based superabsorbents were synthesized using sodium bentonite via radical copolymerization of acrylic acid and acrylamide at temperatures between 30°C and 45°C. Ammonium persulphate -tetramethylethylenediamine was used as an initiator oxidation-reduction system, and N,N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide as the cross-linked agent.
