Effect of footwear and orthotic devices on stress reduction and soft tissue strain of the neuropathic foot

Abstract: Background-Ground reaction forces from walking result in stress (pressure) and soft tissue strain at the plantar aspect of the foot. Excessive plantar pressure and tissue strain on the insensate foot may lead to ulceration.
