Effect of Flyash- Rice Husk Ash Blend in the Energy Efficient Geopolymer Tiles Using Industrial Wastes

Abstract: Infrastructural developments are inevitable for the developing countries and hence the production of sustainable building materials is promoted worldwide. Sustainable development in the vicinity of tiles is bewildered for more than a decade. Production of conventional tiles such as cement concrete tiles, clay tiles and ceramic tiles is energy intensive approach and levies lot of strain over the adjunct ecosystem. On the other hand there are serious problems related to the disposal of flyash, Rice Husk Ash thro… Show more

“…[8,9]. Geopolymers prepared from low calcium types like low calcium fly ash yield fair engineering properties, better temperature properties, and reduced drying shrinkage and creep [10][11][12]. Geopolymer concrete needs high curing temperatures ranging from 80oC to 120oC for a duration of 4 to 20 hours [12,13].…”

“…Plenty of research works focus on the utilization of flyash for the development of geopolymer concrete [6][7][8], bio medical waste ash [9,10], wood ash [11][12][13][14][15], GGBS [16][17][18]. Low calcium fly ash is widely preferred owing to its abundance availability and cheap cost.…”
