Effect of fermented rice bran flour in artificial feed on survival rate and feed conversion ratio of tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Abstract: Tilapia cultivation has the potential to be developed in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi. However, the obstacle faced in tilapia cultivation is feed; the price is relatively high because the raw materials are still imported. One of the efforts to overcome dependence on imported feed raw materials is using local raw materials, namely rice bran. This study aims to determine the best type of probiotic in hydrolyzing rice bran flour into artificial feed on survival and conversion ratio of tilapia fish feed… Show more

“…The sources of protein raw materials such as fish and soybean meals are increasingly limited (FAO, 2018). Therefore, alternatives are needed to reduce imported raw materials such as soybean meal in the catfish diet Rice bran is one of the local raw materials that can be used as an alternative protein source due to its good nutritional content, inexpensive price, and abundance (Yanto et al, 2018;Surianti et al, 2021). It contains 11.19% crude protein, 9.15% crude lipid, 9.17% ash and 31.04% crude fiber (Muin et al, 2013).…”

“…The FCR value is the ratio of the weight of the feed given and the resulting body weight. The greater the FCR value, the more feed needed to produce 1 kg of fish meat [16]. The lowest FCR value was found in treatment P4 with a value of 3.09 and the highest was in treatment P1 with a value of 4.18.…”

“…The formulation of fish floating pellets in this study uses the Pearson Quadrilateral Method which aims to describe the nutritional levels of protein, fat, carbohydrates or other nutrients needed (Surianti, Hasrianti, Wahyudi, & Irwan, 2021). The following is an overview of the formulation; From the formulation that the researcher processed above, the ratio or ratio between ruminant feed and floating fish pellets was then made as follows; 3) Combined Processing of Cultivated Fish Floating Pellets Physical processing of the bran is done by heating to stabilize the bran so it doesn't go rancid during storage.…”
