Effect of Fast-Food-Based Hyper-Alimentation on Liver Enzymes In Healthy Nigerian Youths

Abstract: Fast-food 64.2 (8.9) kg (p<0.001). Serum Alanine transferase (ALT) increased from 20.4 (9.5) U/l at the beginning of the study to a maximum level of 58.5 (12) U/l (normal range 7 -56 U/l). Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) increased from 28.7 (14) U/l to 41.2 (20) U/l (normal range 5 -40 U/l) while Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) also increased from 35.6 (13) U/l to 66.5 (14)U/l [normal range: 25 -100U/l].
