“…The presence of pollutants and heavy metals is one of many environmental factors that can result in a dangerously affected catfish reproduction system (Authman et al 2015). Mansour et al (2018) reported that the environmental impacts of pollution caused a pronounced decline in the gonad activity of the studied fish, which was reflected clearly by decreasing sperm in ripe testes and ripe oocyte degeneration (atresia). Also, the acceptance of the development of the fish CYP gene and its association with the metabolism of PAHs is important for the valuation and prediction of the ability of fish to acclimatize to xenobiotic risk (Moses et al, 1993), and it is induced by a broad range of xenobiotics such as PAHs (Mansour et al, 2018).
