Effect of edible coating made from plantain peel waste on the quality of African elemi (Canarium schweinfurthii) fruit

Abstract: Edible coating was developed from plantain peel waste and applied to improve the quality and postharvest storage of African elemi (Canarium Schweinfurthii). Application of edible coating on the African elemi (Canarium Schweinfurthii) fruit improved the nutritional composition. The protein content of the coated fruit was (17.94%), crude fibre (3.91%) and ash content (3.64%).
