“…The concentration of nitric acid in aqueous was varied up to 3 M in this case. The ATR‐FTIR spectrum of 0.2 M TEHDGA/ n ‐DD shows the transmittance bands at 1663 cm −1 , due amidic carbonyl stretching, and 1117 cm −1 bands, due to etheric asymmetric (C−O‐C) stretching frequencies. The extraction of nitric acid in organic phase could result in protonation of amidic carbonyl or etheric groups.…”

“…All these species distributes in organic phase in the form of aggregates. A shoulder observed at 1639 cm −1 in the ATR‐FTIR spectrum above 2 M HNO 3 indicates that the abundance of the aggregate responsible for the 1639 cm −1 band is more in the organic phase . Since these aggregates interact efficiently among themselves as compared to the other group of aggregates responsible for broadening (at 1663 cm −1 ), they exhibit a separate transmittance band or a shoulder at 1639 cm −1 .…”

“…This phenomenon is in agreement with the results of Cui et al for the extraction of Gd(III), Dy(III), Er(III) and Yb(III) by TBDGA in toluene from HCl medium. 15 Octanol-kerosene was also used as the diluent for diglycolamides in the extraction of lanthanide and actinide. 11,30 In order to understand the relationship between extraction ability and the polarity of diluents, octanol was mixed with sulfonated kerosene in different ratios to extract Pr(III), as show in Fig.…”

“…[10][11][12] TODGA and T2EHDGA were used for the separation of 90 Y from 90 Sr in hydrochloric acid solution. 13,14 Cui et al 15 reported the effect of diluents on the extraction behavior of rare earth elements with TBDGA from hydrochloric acid.…”

“…Ghanadzadeh et al [17] established that lauric acid extracts capably copper(II) from aqueous solutions and it was shown that in the organic phase dimeric complexes of the (CuR 2 .HR) 2 formula are formed. The solvents have a great importance on the extraction efficiency and distribution ratio due to their polarity [18]. As a consequence, studies of the effect of solvents on the extraction of metal ions have been reported by many researchers [19][20][21][22][23].…”
