Aims: The study aims to investigate the influence of different IBA concentration on the rooting and subsequent growth of hardwood cuttings of "Pusa Navrang" grapevine. Study Design: The study was performed in RBD design with replicate 5 times. Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted at Research Farm, College of Horticulture, Mandsaur, during the period November 2020- March 21. Methodology: Polybags size of 5 X 7 inch was used for experiment. After the filling of growing media in poly bags, the hard wood cuttings of Pusa Navrang with uniform size having 4-5 functional bud was taken from one year matured canes from research farm, College of Horticulture, Mandsaur. The diameter of cutting about 0.75 to 1 cm (pencil thickness) were taken and before planting cuttings were treated with IBA solution by quick dip method. Results: The significant result were found for shoot parameter like shoot length, number of nodes per shoot, internodal length, number of buds per shoot, stem diameter, stem fresh weight, stem dry weight. Root Parameters like number of primary and secondary roots, root length, root thickness, whole root volume, fresh weight of root and dry weight of root. Leaf Parameters like number of leaves per plant, fresh weight of leaf, dry weight of leaf, leaf area, leaf area index, specific leaf weight, minimum days taken to emergence of 1st leaf and water content of leaf found in IBA @ 6000 ppm (G3). Conclusion: Among four concentration of growth regulator (IBA), the application of IBA @ 6000 ppm (G3) responded well in terms of rooting and shooting in hard wood cutting of grapes.

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is an important commercial horticultural crop. The cultivation of this crop is increasing day by day. Mainly due to its survival nature, particularly in dry or less water available areas. Its propagation is possible by using seed but vegetative propagation methods are very popular. Even commercial propagation of pomegranate is done by cuttings. To fulfill the rising demand for high-quality plant material, easy, fast, reliable, economical multiplications are required, and under such circumstances, cuttings are the best-suited material. This method of propagation can further be improved by the use of optimum growing media and application of various plant growth regulators Indole Butyric acid and its derivations. Moreover, the success of propagation depends on prevailing weather conditions and the time of planting. Perlite + vermiculite and a combination of vermiculite + coco peat in equal proportions, quick dip application of 2500 ppm IBA, and planting in the spring season are considered ideal for fast and economical multiplication of pomegranate cuttings. Humid weather conditions during the spring season exhibit a good possibility of rooting and survival of the same. Therefore, the main aim of this review article is to collect/compile the information regarding the effect of growing media and applications of IBA under different weather regimes over previous years along with recent happenings.

The nickel hyperaccumulator Bornmuellera tymphaea has been evaluated for use in agromining in Greece with very promising results. This study examines propagation of this species based on cuttings, which provides rapid multiplication and clonal propagation of genotypes with useful genetic traits and offers obvious advantages over propagation by seed. Apical cuttings, 10 cm long, obtained from plants in the field, were propagated on mist benches under greenhouse conditions. Four treatments based on the rooting medium were evaluated: (a) perlite, (b) perlite + peat 1:1 (v/v), (c) ultramafic soil, and (d) ultramafic soil + perlite 1:1 (v/v). Completely randomized blocks were used in a 4 × 2 factorial design, using 4 different propagation rooting media and 2 levels of auxins (with or without the use of indole‐3‐butyric acid [IBA]), with 3 replicates of 28 cuttings. The response to perlite medium was best in terms of rooting: 75% without IBA and 71.33% with IBA, and the dry weight of roots was 0.18 g and of shoots 0.34 g. Perlite + peat 1:1 (v/v) medium also resulted in rooting in more than 55% of cuttings whereas cuttings grown in ultramafic soil showed very low rooting (<27%). Based on the findings, B. tymphaea has an aptitude for vegetative propagation by cuttings with survival values and rooting greater than 70%. Perlite combined with the application of auxin (ΙΒΑ) is recommended.
