Abstract:The production of biomass and biopolyesters (polyhydroxyalkanoates) by the marine bacterium Saccharophagus degradans from: glucose, starch, glucosamine, and xylose were studied. The effect of yeast extract, trace elements, vitamins, and initial concentration of each carbon source on biomass production was evaluated.
