Abstract: Among the three existing targeted gene editing technologies, zinc-finger nucleases, transcription activator-like effector nucleases, and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats-CRISPR-associated 9 (CRISPR-Cas9), the latter is widely used owing to its simplicity, efficiency, and low cost.
