Effect of Cold-Rolling Reduction on Recrystallization Microstructure, Texture and Corrosion Properties of the X2CrNi12 Ferritic Stainless Steel

Abstract: X2CrNi12 ferritic stainless steel has a wide range of application prospects in the railway transportation, construction, and automobile fields due to its excellent properties. The properties of X2CrNi12 ferritic stainless steel can be further improved by cold-rolling and subsequent annealing treatment. The purpose of this work is to investigate the effect of cold-rolling reduction on the microstructure, texture and corrosion properties of the recrystallized X2CrNi12 ferritic stainless steel by using SEM, TEM, … Show more

“…Following cold rolling and subsequent recrystallization processes, a signi cant grain re nement and the dominance of gamma ber texture were observed in our case. This phenomenon has been widely reported in the literature [6,41]. It can be attributed to stress localization during rolling and the stored energy associated with the gamma texture compared to other textures [29,42].…”

“…The role of the degree of RRs during CR and subsequent annealing on X2CrNi12 FSS has also been reported, and the evolution of different texture components and their corresponding volume fractions are shown in Figure 11a-f [112]. Figure 11a-c demonstrates the recrystallization of ferrite grains following heat treatment of 50% CR samples.…”

“…Conversely, as shown in Figure 11d-f, the crystal orientation in the 90% CR annealed sheets is primarily composed of {111}<uvw> and partially {112}<uvw> components, with smaller GS. [112]. (g) Phase volumetric fraction of texture components of ultra-purified FSS after CR and continuous annealing [113].…”

“…Table 3 lists the specific parameters values of the fitting results. The corrosion performance of the specimen was correlated with Rt; the larger the value of Rt, the lower the corrosion rate [34]. The Rt of the cold sprayed TC4 alloy coating and the Mg-Li alloy substrate reached 2.36 × 10 4 and 1.90 × 10 2 Ω•cm 2 , respectively.…”
