“…Ca-and P-rich chicken manure has also been studied for its interactions with K-feldspar, fresh/activated olivine, and limestone using a 100 kWth DFB rig. 50 However, the layer formation process on olivine with P-rich chicken manure has not been described as what has been done for Kfeldspar. Furthermore, the influence of K species on the layer formation of olivine particles has received even less attention, and each atmosphere condition may influence the agglomeration behavior 51,52 as well as carbon conversion.…”

“…A detailed investigation of each operating condition of a DFB gasifier, which requires isolation between the two reactors, is needed to address the knowledge gaps. Ca- and P-rich chicken manure has also been studied for its interactions with K-feldspar, fresh/activated olivine, and limestone using a 100 kWth DFB rig . However, the layer formation process on olivine with P-rich chicken manure has not been described as what has been done for K-feldspar.…”

“…Since the syngas from FR needs to be cooled down for the removal of ashes in a bag filter, we can expect some ash deposition on the heat transfer surfaces resulting in corrosion, but large-scale pilot projects on DFB gasification such as GoBiGas have shown to work well without any major corrosion issues [5]. For CLG, the presence of alkali and alkaline earth minerals (AAEM) in the ash may aid in catalyzing char reaction and the WGS reaction in FR leading to better syngas yield and higher H 2 /CO ratio [45,46] whereas the presence of chlorine in ash can result in the reaction of chlorine with oxygen carrier leading to deactivation of the oxygen carrier [47]. Table 3 shows the ultimate and proximate analysis of the typical biomass in Nordic countries [48].…”

“…With the operating parameters in the operation period 2018, the gasification ran for the longer time (95 h) than the operation period 2017 (34.5 h). Biomass ash, calcium hydroxide and dolomite were added to the olivine during the operation periods 2017 and 2018 to increase activity of the bed material for better plant performance [27,34]. As mentioned before, calcium, which influences the tar reduction, requires time to interact and be incorporated into the bed material.…”
