Abstract:The far field diffraction by generalized annular apertures of light waves rendered partially coherent due to atmospheric turbulence has been examined theoretically. The phase structure function generated by the atmospheric turbulence has been assumed to obey the square law which leads to Gaussian type correlation function. The expressions are worked out for the field irradiance and central irradiance distributions. The two point resolution according to Sparrow-criterion has been also worked out. The field irra… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
