Effect of Animal Slurry on Carbon Structural S235jr Steel at 318 K

Abstract: Carbon steels as a construction materials are still very popular, but exposed to corrosion. Low-carbon steel is often used as a construction material for agricultural equipment. Corrosion is a result of the chemical and electrochemical environment influence on the material. In alloys and metals changes occur as a result of interaction with the surrounding environment. One of the most important factors constructional material is corrosion resistance, first of all in demanding animal environment. Slurry is a mix… Show more

“…The results presented in this article may be useful in industrial in order to improve the durability of machine parts by strengthening the surface layer [15,16], modifying its functional properties [17,18] and wear resistance [19,20]. It can also be used to improve the techniques enhancing the resistance of parts working in chemically aggressive environments [21,22], thermomechanically loaded [23] and exposed to biocorrosion [24][25][26].…”

“…DLC films have been also developed for many other fields. Their unique properties enable increased corrosion protection (Lipiński, 2017;Pliszka and Radek, 2017), even in highly aggressive biological environments (Skrzypczak- Pietraszek, 2015;Lipiński and Karpisz, 2020a). The use of these coatings also significantly improves the wear resistance against friction (Korzekwa et al, Szala et al, 2019), preventing contamination of the lubricants (Radzymińska-Lenarcik et al, 2018) and the associated change in material properties (Lipiński et al, 2020).…”

“…The results presented in this article may be useful in other scientific areas, including by providing datasets for the development of analytical methods [9,10], and information for improving techniques to strengthen the resistance of materials in environments that are chemically aggressive [11,12], thermomechanically stressful [13] and exposed to biocorrosion [14][15][16]. In the industrial area, they can be used to improve the durability of machine parts by strengthening the surface layer [17,18], modifying its resistance [19,20] and performance properties [21,22].…”
