Effect of an optimal oxide layer on the efficiency of graphene‐silicon Schottky junction solar cell

Abstract: The harvesting of solar energy through silicon/graphene Schottky junction photovoltaic cell has been widely investigated in the last decade but the surface recombination at interface limits the high conversion efficiency. We have demonstrated the utilization of the optimum thickness (1.5 nm) of Al 2 O 3 between the interfaces of graphene and n-type Si as an interlayer to reduce the surface recombination along with chemical doping of perfluorinated polymeric sulfonic acid (PFSA) is used as a p-type dopant to mo… Show more

“…Figure d shows the EQE (100%) as a function of the wavelength at a fixed intensity for different lights. The power conversion efficiency (η) of bulk PV device is calculated at power of 90.4 Wcm –2 by using the following relations: Fill Factor = FF = I m V m / I SC V OC and P C E = η = V OC J SC / P Laser × F F × 100 …”

“…As a result, there has been a substantial increase in the abundance of work conducted on G/S SCs recently. [53][54][55][56][57] Owing to its physical/chemical/mechanical features, graphene-based heterojunction SCs exhibited an good efficiency (18.5%) when combined with GaAs structure. 58 Aer achieving positive results in research and development trials, a feasible manufacturing process for small-scale commercial production of thin-lm and dye-sensitized photosupercapacitors using graphene has been effectively developed and implemented.…”
