Effect of aging treatment on properties of Al–Si alloy solidified at high-pressure

Abstract: The thermal conductivity and microhardness of the high-pressure solidified Al–Si-Fe-Mg alloys can be significantly improved by a large number of solute atoms precipitated and hence released the lattice distortion after aging for 12 h. And the α-Al lattice constant does not change significantly during the aging treatment from 12 h to 24 h, indicating the alloy released less lattice distortion.
