Abstract: Microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) is a serious threat to the integrity of crude oil pipelines. Sulphate-reducing bacteria (SRB) are the primary microorganisms responsible for MIC, and their aggressiveness is dependent on the energy source available to them.
