Effect of a dilute “drag‐reducing” polymer solution on a float‐type flowmeter

Abstract: It has been found experimentally that very dilute polymer solutions of the type known to reduce turbulent pipe friction drag affect the calibration of “rotameter” type flow meters. This effect appears to decrease with increasing age of the solution.
