Abstract:Abstract:The corrosion behavior of brass in the presence of inhibitor namely 5-methyl benzotriazole (MBTA) has been investigated in 3% NaCl medium. The inhibition efficiency of MBTA was evaluated from chemical and electrochemical techniques. Experimental studies showed that MBTA reduces markedly the corrosion of brass in 3% NaCl solution and this reduction in corrosion rates enhances with increasing concentration of MBTA.
