Effect of 1,25(OH2D3 on the proliferation of human mesangial cells and their expression of Ki67

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Previous studies have found that 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D 3 [1,25(OH) 2 D 3 or VD 3 ] exerts many biological effects, including the inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis, but its mechanism of action remains unclear. The goal of our investigation was to explore the effects of 1,25(OH) 2 D 3 on the proliferation of cultured human mesangial cells and their expression of Ki67 in vitro, and to establish its mechanism of action. Cultured human mesangial cells were randomly divided int… Show more

“…Following 28 days of culturing, ZnS significantly inhibited tumor growth, while TCONS-00026762 caused significantly tumor formation (Figures 4A-F). We examined the expression of ki67 in tumors via immunohistochemistry (Figure 4G).…”

“…This was evidenced by an increase in Ki67-positive cells, which are a reliable marker of cell proliferation (Wang al., 2019a). Zhao et al (2017) showed that Ki67 protein and mRNA levels increased in response to EGF stimulation. The expression of cell cycle-related factor PCNA, an auxiliary protein of DNA polymerases δ and ε, was enhanced by 200 µg kg -1 EGF (Cheung et al, 2009).…”

“…Its homeostasis is required for gastrointestinal structural integrity and functional maturation (Grosse et al, 2011). Early weaning removes piglets from sow milk which contains a number of growth factors that play key roles in epithelial cell regeneration and renewal, and places them on a less digestible, solid diet (Zhao et al, 2017;Yang et al, 2016c). This transition-related loss of milk-borne growth factors is often accompanied by intestinal epithelial growth abnormalities, villus atrophy with its associated morbidity, gut barrier impairment, and inflammatory bowel diseases (Smith et al, 2010).…”

“…The dose of DAPT requires strict control, however, a single low dose may not effectively prevent cancer progression. 1,25(OH) 2 D 3 has several biological activities, including maintaining a stable calcium environment, regulating immune function and affecting tumor biological activity, which may affect cell proliferation and apoptosis (32). 1,25(OH) 2 D 3 functions mainly through binding to a specific vitamin D receptor to inhibit myeloid leukemia cell proliferation (33).…”
