This research aims to investigate the influence of the project-based learning instructional model on students' science literacy skills and self-efficacy in rectilinear motion kinematics at SMA Negeri 1 Lhokseumawe. The research design employed is a quasi-experiment in the form of a Nonequivalent (Pretest And Posttest) Control Group Design. The study population consists of ten classes of eleventh-grade IPAS students at SMA Negeri 1 Lhokseumawe. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with XI IPAS 1 (36 students) selected as the experimental class using the PjBL learning model and XI IPAS 4 (36 students) as the control class using the direct instruction learning model. Data collection is conducted through a 10-item essay test and a non-test questionnaire on student self-efficacy comprising 20 statements. Data analysis utilizes the Manova test. This research indicates that the PjBL learning model impacts science literacy skills based on the Manova test results, which show 0.000 < 0.05, signifying a significant influence on the average science literacy skills. The PjBL learning model also influences self-efficacy according to the Manova test results, which demonstrate 0.004 < 0.05, indicating a significant impact on the average self-efficacy. Furthermore, the PjBL learning model affects science literacy skills and self-efficacy, as evidenced by the important results of the Manova test, 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Based on this, it can be inferred that the PjBL learning model influences the science literacy skills and self-efficacy of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Lhokseumawe.Keywords: Project-Based Learning Model, Science Literacy Skills, Self-Efficacy

Tujuan utama dari pendidikan masa kini, termasuk juga Biologi adalah untuk mendorong siswa menjadi pemikir kritis yang efektif dalam menghadapi tantangan global. Sayangnya, gambaran kemampuan tersebut pada siswa Indonesia masih belum menggembirakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi pembelajaran Reflective Metacognitive Project Based Learning (RM-PjBL) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan melalui desain pretest-posttest control group design. Dua kelas yang digunakan dalam penelitian masing-masing diterapkan model pembelajaran RM-PjBL sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan PjBL sebagai kelompok kontrol. Data berupa keterampilan berpikir kritis diperoleh melalui tes uraian yang mengacu pada indikator berpikir kritis. Hasil analisis melalui uji Anacova menunjukkan bahwa model RM-PjBL terbukti lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan model PjBL. Dengan demikian, RM-PjBL memberikan kesempatan yang lebih besar bagi siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir melalui keterlibatan terhadap aktivitas metakognitif yang meliputi perencanaan, monitoring, dan evaluasi secara mendalam terahadap proses berpikir.

The performance parameters of the sensitivity and linearity of the UV-vis Refractometer and Spectrometer in the standard salt solution test are very simple to do on a simple and inexpensive sample basis. The accuracy of measuring instruments is very important, and the process of checking measuring instruments through trials of salt content is one of the techniques in this study to determine the performance parameters of science laboratory equipment, especially in the use of refractometers and Genesys 30 spectrometer UV-vis. Both of these instruments are available in the Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with different specifications in order to select an instrument that has high accuracy based on the characterization of the performance parameters of the Science laboratory equipment with indicators of higher sensitivity and linearity. The output of this research is to provide tool recommendations with high accuracy. Experimental results on samples of five different concentrations of salt solutions showed that the sensitivity and linearity of the spectrometer UV-vis were higher than those of the refractometer, so it can be concluded that to test the concentration of salt content in certain samples, it is better to use a spectrometer UV-vis.
