Show more

“…Laboratory trials were recently conducted with M. anisopliae and Beauveria bassiana on Anocentor nitens 16,17 and Amblyomma cajennense. 18,19 It was shown that for all the developmental stages tested, an action of the entomopathogenic fungi could be verified, causing either mortality or variations in parameters of the non parasitic phase, usually leading to decrease in the number of individuals in the following generation. The are few studies on agents of biological control that affect the ixodids and its pathogenic action.…”

“…Previous studies have shown that B. bassiana and M. anisopliae have great potential as biological control agents for different arthropod species 5,6 . In the current study, C. felis felis eggs exposed to Bb747 at 10 8 conidia mL −1 had low hatchability after 36 h compared to controls, while those exposed to Bb986 showed low hatchability after 48 h (Table 1).…”

“…Fungi have been recognized repeatedly as the most promising microorganisms for microbial control of ticks, e.g., (Bittencourt et al, 1999ab;Arruda et al, 2005;Fernandes and Bittencourt, 2008;Leemon and Jonsson, 2008), R. sanguineus (Samish et al, 2001;Prette et al, 2005;Garcia et al, 2004;Garcia et al, 2005), Amblyomma cajennense s.l.
