“…On the first end of the continuum, children and adolescents who are in treatment for their cancer experience acute medical sequelae, such as short-term treatment toxicities and poor immune system functioning, that increase absenteeism (Eiser & Vance, 2002; Gerhardt et al, 2007) and inhibit effective learning and academic performance.
