Objective: to identify content related to the sexuality theme at schools from municipal and state networks; and to identify the difficulties and needs of teachers in the approach to this theme. Methods: cross-sectional study with 79 teachers of educational institutions using self-administered questionnaire. For analysis one used as an endpoint to belong to the municipal or state school networks. Result: most teachers work in the state school network. The theme sexuality is not dealt with as recommended by the National Curriculum Parameters. Teachers from the municipal network deal more with the pregnancy issue (p=0.04), and it was more mentioned by the state system teachers for training (p=0.03). Most do not have experience and training in the subject (p=0.04). Conclusion: partnerships with the health area are necessary for teachers' training. It is also important to recognize the work of nurses in the work of sex education as an essential component in the comprehensiveness of care in order to strengthen the area of school health.Objetivo: identificar conteúdos referentes à temática sexualidade nas redes municipal e estadual de ensino; e identificar as dificuldades e necessidades dos professores na abordagem da temática. Métodos: estudo transversal com 79 professores das instituições de ensino utilizando questionário autoaplicável. Para análise utilizou-se como desfecho pertencer à rede municipal ou estadual de ensino. Resultado: a maioria dos professores trabalha na rede estadual de ensino. A temática sexualidade não é trabalhada conforme recomendação do Parâmetro Curricular Nacional. Os professores da rede municipal trabalham mais o tema gravidez (p=0,04), e mais citado por professores da rede estadual para capacitação (p=0,03). A maioria não tem experiência e capacitação na temática (p=0,04). Conclusão: são necessárias parcerias com a área da saúde para instrumentalização do professor. É importante também reconhecer a atuação do enfermeiro no trabalho da educação sexual como componente essencial na integralidade do cuidado para fortalecer a área da saúde do escolar. Objective: to know the conceptions of parents of adolescent students about the sexuality of their children. Methods: it is a qualitative research modality Strategic Research, using focus groups guided by a semi structured instrument with 15 parents of adolescent students. The data were analyzed by content analysis in which the following categories emerged: "Understanding aspects related to sexuality"; "Difficulties for dialogue"; "Facilities for dialogue"; and "The tasks of the family and the school to support the theme." Results: parents had superficial knowledge and misconceptions on the subject. Great difficulty of dialogue between parents and children has been identified, justified by ignorance and timidity of parents and the lack of opening of the adolescent, still, there was recognition of family responsibility in this context. Conclusion: there is need for expansion of intersectoral work involving segments of the education, health and universities to support families with information about sexuality in the school context.

RESUMOA Educação Sexual (ES) no ambiente escolar deve ser um processo calculado e articulado, que pretenda propiciar aos adolescentes um desenvolvimento que inclua conhecimento, questionamento e reflexão. Nesse sentindo, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo de analisar o nível de envolvimento das escolas na pessoa de gestores e professores no que diz respeito à Educação Sexual, bem como identificar as principais dificuldades enfrentadas por professores do ensino fundamental II e médio com relação à temática. Para isso, foram realizadas entrevistas a gestores e aplicado questionários aos professores de quatro escolas, sendo duas municipais e duas estaduais da cidade de Barreiras-BA. A análise de dados permitiu identificar um conhecimento superficial dos pesquisados e pouco envolvimento com a temática, o que reflete num desconhecimento e muitas vezes na dificuldade de lidar com o assunto em função da falta de formação continuada e de um trabalho efetivo entre setor de saúde e educação. ABSTRACTSexual education (SE) in the school environment should be a calculated and articulated process that aims to provide adolescents with a development that includes knowledge, questioning and reflection. In this sense, the present research aims to analyze the involvement level of schools in the person of managers and teachers with regard to Sex Education, as well as identify the main difficulties faced by teachers of elementary and high school about the theme. For this, interviews were conducted with managers and questionnaires were applied to teachers from four schools, two municipal and two state in the city of Barreiras-BA. Data analysis allowed us to identify a superficial knowledge of the respondents and little involvement with the theme, which reflects a lack of knowledge and often the difficulty of dealing with the subject due to the lack of continuing education and effective work between the health and education sector. A Educação Sexual (ES) é uma forma de atender às inquietações dos adolescentes em relação ao processo de desenvolvimento da sexualidade. Partindo dessa ideia, surgiram inquietações ao longo da trajetória enquanto estudante do curso de licenciatura em ciências biológicas, uma vez que não há uma abordagem sobre a Educação Sexual na grade curricular. Além disso, segundo os parâmetros curriculares nacionais (PCN's) a ES deve ser trabalhada nas escolas, sobretudo de forma interdisciplinar. No entanto, em virtude da ausência de se discutir sobre o assunto tanto no ensino superior, quanto no básico, é que percebe-se uma dificuldade de lidar com o tema nos espaços educacionais, o que não deveria existir e que cursos de formação continuada para auxiliar o professor ainda são bastante raros.
