Th is article aims to present refl ections I have done, since the late 1990s, in the fi eld of Education and Preventive Health of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS with indigenous teachers of schools at Pantanal, Mato Grosso do Sul. It also aimed to carry out a brief educational, psychological and historical analysis of the Programs about Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS developed with teachers in this region. Th e landmark elected to such analysis will cover the period from 1997 to 2010, as the approval of the National Indigenous Healthcare have occurred during this period and the systematization of specifi c actions and programs already developed with these population. Th e study enables us to know the oral narratives of these ethnic groups, through their memories and perceptions of their body and sexuality, health and disease, prevention and treatment, disease and community, thereby contributing to the improvement of the 1 Mestre em História pela UFMS e Doutora em Educação pela USP.
