Effective psychopharmacologic management of psychodermatologic disease involves identifying and basing treatment on the associated psychopathology; familiarity with a variety of psychotropic agents, including antidepressants, anxiolytics, and antipsychotics; and the involvement of a psychiatrist when possible.
