Abstract

In the spirit of continuous improvement, we, editors-in-chief, strive to not only address issues in the review and publication process, but also to identify systemic issues that might necessitate changes. For that reason, in 2015, we undertook a review of the decision options available to manuscript reviewers, associate editors, senior editors and editors-in-chief. Our review has resulted in two outcomes. One is to clarify the meaning of the various options in order to ensure consistency across reviewers and editors and, ultimately, for authors. The other outcome is to introduce a new decision option: revise.Below, are the Information Systems Journal (ISJ) decision options that were implemented in January 2016.
