Edge Magnetoplasmons and Edge Helicon in Quantum Hall Regime at Not-Too-Low Temperatures

Abstract: At not-too-low temperatures, ħωc ≫ kBT ≫ ħvg/2ℓ0 where vg is the group velocity of the edge states and ℓ0 the magnetic length, we obtain new edge magnetoplasmons (EMPs). For ν = 1(2) and very strong dissipation, we find that all EMPs are very strongly damped, due to the dissipative processes at the edge states, but a new weakly damped mode termed edge helicon.
