Eczema vaccinatum in a family with Darier's disease

Abstract: Eczema vaccinatum in a mother and son with Darier's disease is described. The infection was accidentally transmitted from a recently vaccinated grandchild. Vaccinia virus was isolated from the blister fluid in both cases. The mother was treated with hyperimmune anti-vaccinial gamma-globuHn and N-methylisatin /f-thiosemicarbazone (Marboran''). Both patients recovered.
