Economical sampling plans with warranty based on truncated data from Burr type XII distribution

Abstract: Economical sampling plans to ensure the qualities of Burr type XII distributed lifetimes were established using a truncated life test. The Bayesian inference method was used to address the lot-to-lot variation of products. The sampling plan was characterized by the sample size and the acceptance number to minimize the expected total cost. A simple empirical Bayesian estimation method was provided to estimate the hyperparameters of prior distribution, and simulation studies were conducted to validate the propos… Show more

“…Firstly, aiming at k pattern clustering in initial class centre selection, an initial class centre selection algorithm unweights based on weighted density and weighted overlap distance is proposed. Secondly, this article further improves the model on the basis of the above [4].…”

“…For a consumer durable product, warranty cost is an indispensable cost. Several papers acknowledged the importance of warranty cost while designing LTSPs under usage stress (Kwon, 1996; Huang et al ., 2008; Tsai et al ., 2008; Hsieh and Lu, 2013; Tsai et al ., 2015; Chakrabarty et al ., 2020a, b, etc.). But to the best of our knowledge, no paper so far has included warranty cost while designing LTSPs under accelerated life test setting.…”

“…Burr distribution contains twelve forms, which first introduced by Burr in 1942 [1]. However, Burr type XII distribution is the most of the authors have considered [2][3][4][5][6], But other types of Burr distribution do not get much attention. Feroze and Aslam [7] studied the Bayes estimation of the parameter of Burr type XI distribution under the assumption of eight priors (informative, non-informative, single and mixture of priors).…”
