Economical Evaluation of Introducing Oil-water Separation Technology to Wastewater Treatment of Food Processing Factory Based on Separation Engineering

For decades, oil and water separation has remained a challenge. Not only oil spills but also industrial oily wastewaters are threatening our environment. Over the years, oil–water separation methods have been developed, however, there are still considerable hurdles to overcome to provide a low cost and efficient process able to treat a large amount of liquid. In this work, we suggest a continuous, simultaneous and effective oil–water separation method based on the antagonistic functionalization of meshes using atmospheric pressure cold plasmas. Using this robust plasma method, superhydrophobic/underwater-superoleophilic or superhydrophilic/underwater-superoleophobic functionalized meshes are obtained. Antagonistically functionalized meshes can simultaneously separate oil and water and show continuous separation flow rates of water (900 L m−2 h−1) and oil (400 L m−2 h−1) with high purities (> 99.9% v/v). This fast, low-cost and continuous plasma-based process can be readily and widely adopted for the selective functionalization of membranes at large scale for oil-spill cleanup and water purification.

One way to process oil and fat wastes is by the physical method of oil grease trap. In principle the oil grease trap method can separate oils and fats using slow speeds. The slow pace would allow time for oil and fat to separate from the water by gravitational force of the oil and fats that had been separated would be contained in container of disposal. The aim of the study is to know the effectiveness of domestic wastewater treatment and how to analyze by means of gravimetric method (SNI 06-6989 10-2011) and to achieve an alternative method of oil and fatty waste treatment. The method used in laboratory studies for testing levels of oil and fats,vcod and TSS that would be compared to p.68/ menlhk/setjen/1/8/2016 on the domestic waste water quality obtained on this study is that oil and fat achieve levels before and after processing as much 18.5 mg/l and 10.1 mg/l with a 45.40% drop. On BOD came levels before and after Processing of 143.88 mg/l and 109.2 mg/l with a 24.10% drop. On COD came levels before and after Processing of 342,32 mg/l and 280,7 mg/l with a 18% drop. On TSS came levels before and after Processing of 188,6 mg/l and 136,32 mg/l with a 27,72% drop. Such results are not yet met by quality standards, so chemical processing of coagulating with poly aluminum chloride and rapid evaporation and flotation with flotation addition is required So that oil and fat, BOD, COD can be reduced.

The goal of this article was to review the literature which discusses the problem of oily wastewater purifi cation by membrane fi ltration. The authors focused on membranes containing zirconium compounds, mainly ZrO 2 , used in pressure driven membrane processes. The effi ciency of the oil removal processes for various membranes (ceramic and composite), usually above 95% for the oil contaminated sewage, was compared. The infl uence of zirconium compounds on the properties of ceramic membranes was also discussed. The methods of producing ceramic membranes have been briefl y characterized as well. Ceramic membranes are usually obtained by sol-gel technique but also by isostatic compression, reverse phase technique, or hydrothermal crystallization. Ceramic membranes are formed with zirconia, which cause an increase in fi ltration effi ciency by improvement of hydrophilic properties of the membrane. Moreover, the addition of ZrO 2 results in increased chemical and hydrothermal membrane stability. The effi ciency of the fi ltration processes using the presented membranes was high, suggesting that membrane fi ltration processes are highly effective purifi cation methods. Oczyszczanie ścieków olejowych przy zastosowaniu membran ceramicznych zawierających tlenek cyrkonu -przegląd literaturowyStreszczenie: Artykuł stanowi przegląd literatury, w którym omówiono problem oczyszczania ścieków olejowych w oparciu o fi ltrację membranową. Skupiono się na membranach ciśnieniowych zawierających związki cyrkonu, głównie ZrO 2 . Porównano skuteczność procesów oczyszczania dla różnych membran (ceramicznych i kompozytowych). Omówiono wpływ związków cyrkonu na właściwości użytkowe membran ciśnieniowych. Membrany ceramiczne są zwykle uzyskiwane za pomocą techniki zol-żel, ale również przez prasowanie izostatyczne, technikę odwróconej fazy lub krystalizację hydrotermiczną. Membrany ceramiczne są formowane z tlenkiem cyrkonu, co skutkuje wzrostem skuteczności fi ltracji.
