Economic development of countries, regions or entities operating on the market is possible when favourable economic conditions outweigh adverse conditions. Examining the development of European economy, it is possible to observe this regularity in the majority of periods, i.e. the bull market had a more intense and longer impact on the economy in comparison with the bear market, enabling constant economic development of Europe. Globalisation, a relative ease of financing investment activity, financial over-liquidity, negative interest rates: all of them result in the fact that previously verified and correctly operating mechanisms and market models have become unpredictable. During the latest crisis, the European real property market lost some part of its potential. The loss varied in individual EU member-countries. Some of them coped with the crisis quite successfully, others managed to do so on the average, still others have felt its effects until today. Making use of regressive techniques, the author undertook to measure and assess the impact of the global crisis on the property market. Consequently, the effects and intensity of its impact regarding the number of issued building permits, number of the employed in construction industry, value of construction production and prices of real property were measured.

Purpose: The research aims to analyse mutual relations between Poland and China in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), assess Poland's involvement in this China-led project and identify the most significant factors affecting the cooperation between both countries. The multidimensional analysis is based on a set of criteria, which are in line with the BRI's focus areas. The article discusses the achievements so far, current challenges and prospects for further Polish-Chinese cooperation in the institutional, logistics and infrastructural, trade, investment and financial dimensions, and people-to-people contacts as well. Design/Methodology/Approach: Both qualitative and quantitative methods are used to achieve the above-mentioned objectives. Findings: The authors identify and assess the main areas of Poland's activity in the BRI. They also point out potential solutions to the main problems related to Poland benefiting by this project. Practical Implications: Solutions falling within the scope of logistics and infrastructure can be quickly implemented and in a short time give an answer to the bottleneck problem within the BRI. Originality/Value: The article provides a comprehensive analysis of Poland-China relations in the context of the BRI and Poland's engagement in the BRI. In this paper, the authors describe institutional, logistics and infrastructural, trade, investment, financial and people-topeople relations between China and Poland.

“…However, in the case of the NSR, a multifaceted view beyond the issues of transport infrastructure and trade liberalisation is needed. Trade integration, as a result of the NSR, will cause the preferential effects for the participating countries and the discriminatory ones for those who find themselves excluded from this initiative (Marinov 2015). The discriminatory effects will be particularly felt by the countries, for which trade connections with the EU countries, China and other participants of the NSR are a priority.…”

the chinese one belt one road (obor) initiative often referred to as the new silk road (nsr), seems to be the greatest endeavour of our times in terms of economy, politics and logistics. the study aimed to examine the potential of poland, belarus, lithuania, latvia, estonia and russia to participate in the nsr. the method applied was comparative analysis including both quantitative and qualitative studies. the juxtaposition of data from the intensity of global integration enabled assessment of the potential negative consequences of non-participation of the countries in the nsr. in turn, the analysis of specific indicators of trade integration, the intensity of global integration and the logistics performance of the researched part of europe has made it possible to answer the question about the most promising variants of the nsr.
