Economic Burden of Osteoporosis in South Korea: Claim Data of the National Health Insurance Service from 2008 to 2011

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to estimate the current economic burden of osteoporosis in South Korea using national claim data of the Korean National Health Insurance Service (KNHIS) from 2008 to 2011. Patients aged 50 years or older were identified from KNHIS nationwide database for all records of outpatient visits or hospital admissions.
